In the state Duma assessed the proposal to reduce the new year holidays

A few extra days by reducing the Christmas holidays in 2021 will not allow you to restore the Russian economy, in addition, losses may be incurred by the industry receiving the income during the holidays, told RIA Novosti the head of the Committee on labour and social policy Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), commenting on the initiative of Senator Andrey Kutepov.

Earlier, the head of the economic Committee of the Federation Council Andrey Kutepov sent for review to the Ministry of labor the draft law on reducing the Christmas holidays in 2021 for up to three days, from 1 to 3 January, to compensate for non-working days in the current year because of the pandemic coronavirus.

"The economy we do not restore, due to the fact that there will be five additional working days. Then, we must not forget that many areas suffered during the pandemic, which could not deliver their services - the same food - just in time for the holidays earn much more. Here it is necessary to consider, in any case, the balance of working and non-working days must be preserved", - said Nilov.

He also suggested that citizens negatively react to the attempt to "take holidays".

"During the isolation, many were on vacation, though actually it was not sat in four walls, and during the long new year holidays will be able to compensate the rest time, because I hope we'll get out of this situation with coronavirus," added Nilov.
