Muscovites warned of the danger of a second wave of heat

The second heat wave in the Metropolitan area may adversely affect the health of older Muscovites, told RT the scientific Director of the hydrometeorological center of Russia Roman Vilfand.

Earlier, in an interview with RIA Novosti, the forecaster warned of the approach of the second heat wave since Monday. According to him, the temperature in the European territory of Russia will be above four or five degrees.

The expected temperature in Moscow this week, said the technician will be more typical for July in the South of the Central Chernozem region. Starting Tuesday the background temperature in the afternoon will reach 30 degrees and the night temperature will be 17-20 degrees, he added.

"Temperatures will be above long-term mean by about five or six degrees Celsius. I want to warn that this so-called second wave of heat and it acts not very positive for the elderly," — said Vilfand.

The forecaster also said that the weather will be determined by the approaching solstice, when the sun's rays are most intense.
