In Mali, the attack killed two peacekeepers of the UN

Two members of the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) were killed on Saturday in an armed attack in the North-East of the country, reads the statement of the mission.

According to the statement, the resupply convoy was attacked near the village Torkent, located to the North-East of the city of Gao.

It is reported that the special representative of the UN Secretary General in Mali and head of MINUSMA Mahamat Saleh Annadif condemned the attack.

Mission MINUSMA was established in April 2013 to carry out a special task in the field of security in Mali. By October 2018 the number of missions exceeded 15 thousand people.
