The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill in Moscow Park "Patriot" and urged the military not to break the oath and to "brandish the sword" only when there is a danger to the Fatherland.

The temple and the war Museum was erected in the Moscow Park "Patriot" for the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. They planned to open on Victory Day, but the consecration of the Cathedral was postponed because of the epidemic of the coronavirus. The divine Liturgy was attended by the bishops and priests of the Russian Orthodox Church, the veterans of the great Patriotic war, the defense Minister, his deputies and representatives of the civil authorities.

"Always stay true to your oath, remember that behind all the people and the whole country. May the Lord bless all who in the words of the Apostle Paul, "I have sword upon the thigh" and that this sword is able to expose only when there comes the danger to the beloved Fatherland", - said the Patriarch.

He noted that the military life is of great importance for the country.

The duty of the Church, according to him, prays for the military, for the Fatherland and the people.

"And in such harmony armed forces and spiritual strength of the Church, spiritual and temporal, Church and state, in peace and prosperity, let flows the historical path of our people in the future. May God's blessing be with our armed forces and our people", - concluded the Primate of the Russian Church.

On the territory of the temple complex has also opened a gallery-Museum "Road of memory". Its length is 1 418 steps, the number of days of the great Patriotic war. There are data on more than 33 millions of veterans and their surviving photos.

Of the features of the temple - the image of the Saviour - "the largest image of the face of Christ, made in the mosaic technique," said the Patriarch. The total area of the mosaics of the upper and lower temples of almost 4 thousand square meters. The height of the Cathedral is 75 metres, which is also symbolic, because it was built for the anniversary of the Victory. The diameter of the base of the Central dome is 19 meters 45 centimeters (1945 - year of Victory). The location of the temple: the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region — the place of the battle for Moscow in November 1941, a kind of threshold, beyond which this sector of the front German troops were not.

The lower Church dedicated to the Holy equal to the apostles Great Prince Vladimir, the Baptizer of Rus. The upper Church - the Resurrection of Christ. All four aisles of the upper Church dedicated to the patron saints of the armed forces. So, the prophet Elijah — the patron Saint of aerospace and airborne troops of Russia, Prince Alexander Nevsky — the army, the great Martyr Varvara — the strategic Missile forces and the Apostle Andrew is the patron Saint of the Navy of Russia. The vaults of the upper Church is decorated with stained glass Windows with images of military orders, including the Soviet era.

The temple and Museum was built on donations of citizens and organizations received by a specially created charity Fund "Resurrection". The ROC noted that the construction had been collected more than 3 billion rubles. According to the CEO of the charity Fund "Resurrection" Alexander Kanshin, Moscow has allocated 2 billion rubles, Moscow oblast — 950 million. More than 3 million rubles of donations received from individuals and organizations from other countries.
