Zelensky commented on Ukraine's gaining the status of a partner in NATO

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky believes that the status of the partner advanced capabilities will allow NATO country and the Alliance is even better to interact for the common safety.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said Friday that the country received the status of advanced partner of NATO's capabilities.

"Grateful to the members of the Alliance for the recognition of the significant contribution of Ukraine to the joint peacekeeping operation in the world. The status of the partner advanced capabilities of NATO - a practical solution that will allow Ukraine and the Alliance is even better to interact for the sake of security", - Zelensky wrote on his Twitter page.

Previously updated Ukrainian government released a draft program of its activities, which implies that Ukraine will continue to adhere to the policy integration with the European Union and NATO. The document notes that integration into the North Atlantic Alliance will help in strengthening the country's defense.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in December 2014, amended the two laws, abandoning non-aligned status of the state. In June 2016 were adopted additional changes that define membership in NATO objective of the foreign policy of the country. In February 2019, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted amendments to the Constitution, securing the country's course to EU and NATO.
