Ukraine has received the status of the partner advanced capabilities NATO

Ukraine has received the status of the partner advanced capabilities of NATO, said the Minister of foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

"I am deeply grateful to our Alliance partners, because they made this possible. Ukraine finally gets the deserved status of the partner advanced capabilities of NATO," Kuleba wrote on Twitter, Recalling that Kiev had applied for participation in the program extended features NATO back in January.

In December 2014, the Verkhovna Rada amended the two laws, which Ukraine lost its non-aligned status of the state. Two years later, were adopted additional changes that define membership in NATO objective of the foreign policy of the country.

According to the program of the Ukrainian government, the country will continue to adhere to the course towards integration with the EU countries and NATO. However, the former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said earlier that the entry for Kiev will require to reach a number of criteria, the implementation of which will take a lot of time.

Experts believe that Ukraine will not be able to apply for membership in the Alliance in the next 20 years.
