The head of Abkhazia Bzhania congratulated Putin on Russia Day
The head of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania has congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on Day of Russia, the press service of the Abkhazian President.
"Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich! On behalf of the people of the Republic of Abkhazia and myself, I sincerely congratulate You on the national holiday – Day of Russia", - said in a congratulatory telegram.
Bzhania expressed to Putin on behalf of the people of Abkhazia for contribution to the strengthening of the statehood of the Republic, the security and socio-economic development of the country and improving the welfare of the Abkhazians.
"Today, modern Russia is a strong and independent state, firmly standing on guard of its national interests and from year to year strengthens the status of mighty power," - said in greeting.
Russia day is celebrated on June 12. On this day in 1990 adopted the Declaration on state sovereignty of Russia. Henceforth, in all matters of state and public life of the Federation enjoyed full authority. In may 1991, the RSFSR Supreme Soviet has declared June 12 a public holiday. A year later, in June 1992 - this day was named a holiday.
By the decree of the President of Russia of June 2, 1994, the Day of adoption of Declaration on state sovereignty of the Russian Federation was declared a public holiday. The name "Russia Day" was officially assigned to the festival in 2002 when entered into force the new Labour code, which had been prescribed new holidays and weekends.
