The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov announced the development of an integrated system of water supply of the entire Peninsula, which will provide the population with drinking water.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that Kiev is not going to help Moscow to solve problems with water supply of the Crimea. In turn, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories Alexey Reznikov said that the resumption of water supply is possible only after the return of the Peninsula to the Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigel noted that the question of resuming the supply of the Crimea in the agenda is not necessary and is not negotiable.

"We have a strategy for the development of water supply system of the city of Simferopol and other Crimean regions continue to develop. Accordingly, measures will be implemented. Crimea without water will not remain", - said Aksenov at a gala launch ceremony of the new pipeline, which will allow Simferopol to provide additional drinking water.

Artesian water began to be served from the catchment in the Bakhchsarai area.

Earlier, Ukraine provided to 85% of needs of the Crimea in fresh water coming from the Dnieper through North Crimean canal. However, after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia water flow through the channel in the Republic was completely stopped unilaterally. The question of water supply was solved at the expense reservoirs of natural filling, which over the past year significantly obmelel due to the small amount of precipitation, but also by drilling wells and extraction of water from underground sources.
