Shipbuilding plant "Severnaya Verf" (part of United shipbuilding Corporation) is planning to transfer the Russian Navy the first serial frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" project 22350 in the beginning of July 2020, said in an interview with RIA Novosti General Director of the plant Igor Ponomarev.
"Testing frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" is almost completed. Plan to transfer to the Navy in early July, before the Main naval parade," he said.
He recalled that a frigate was tested in the Northern and Baltic fleets. According to him, the frigate during the test showed "very good performance".
"Commissioning team together with the crew, support services fleet conducted a thorough review of the frigate. Recently, "Kasatonov" made up of the marine part of the state tests and returned to Northern shipyard. In June he will pass the audit", - said Ponomarev.
Earlier it was reported that the frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" will be part of the Northern fleet.
Project 22350 frigates are designed to perform a wide range of missions including destruction of surface ships, convoys, amphibious forces, search and destroy submarines and ground targets, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and anti-missile defence of ships and vessels, joint operations with amphibious assault forces, patrol service, protection of state borders, protection of the civil courts and industrial activities in crisis and dangerous for swimming the World's oceans.
Displacement of the ship is 5000 tons speed – 29 knots, cruising range - 4500 miles, autonomy – 30 days, the crew is 170 people.
The ships of this project are created using the stealth technology (technology for reduction of visibility), intended for combat operations in the far ocean area against surface ships and submarines. The frigates are armed with 130-millimeter artillery installation A-192, anti-aircraft missile complex "Redoubt", launchers for 16 anti-ship missiles "Onyx" or "Calibre-NK".
