The EC proposed to remove restrictions on travel to the EU for Balkan countries
The Commission proposes to remove restrictions on travel to the EU from 1 July to the Western Balkans region, said the EC.
"The Commission also recommends the abolition of travel restrictions for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Northern Macedonia and Serbia from 1 July, given that their epidemiological situation is similar or better than in the EU", - stated in the section of the release titled "Gradual lifting of travel restrictions in the EU".
This recommendation also stems from the willingness of the EC to link the Western Balkans with the implementation of the European roadmap for the abolition of quarantine measures, shows the release.
