The U.S. national debt reached a record high
The U.S. national debt has set a new record, reaching 26 trillion dollars, according to CBS News, citing the Ministry of Finance.
According to authorities, during the presidency of Donald trump's national debt increased by six trillion dollars.
The Finance Ministry attributed the growth to the actions of the authorities to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Earlier, former Department head Henry Paulson has warned that the uncontrolled growth of public debt and budget deficit could deprive the dollar's privileged position as the world's main reserve currency.
