The US raised fighter jets to escort the Tu-95MS
The F-22 for the U.S. air force lifted into the air to escort Russian bombers Tu-95MS near the border of Russia and the United States of America, the message of the defense Ministry.
A flight of four Russian bombers were planned and took place over neutral waters of the Chukchi, Bering and Okhotsk seas, and North Pacific ocean.
"The takeoff was carried out from airfields on the territory of the Chukotka Autonomous district and Amur region. At separate stages of the route Russian planes were accompanied by fighters F-22 U.S. air force," - said in a release.
The flight lasted 11 hours. Russian long-range aviation, as noted in the defense Ministry, regularly makes flights in the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific, Black sea and Baltic sea, is always "in strict accordance with international rules."
The release also notes that last may, the aircraft of strategic aviation of the United States five times, performed the flights along the borders of Russia.
Earlier, the chief of the Main operations Directorate of the General staff of the RF armed forces, Colonel-General Sergey rudskoy said that the defense Ministry of the Russian Federation captures a high level of military activity of the US and its NATO allies near Russia's borders. He added that the Armed forces of the Russian Federation will continue to monitor military activity of NATO on its borders for the timely adoption of measures to ensure security and prevent incidents.
