Romania can recognize Russia as a hostile state
The Romanian authorities can recognize Russia as an enemy state and a threat to the region, this is stated in the national defense strategy of the country in 2020-2024 years.
The Supreme defence Council of Romania, headed by the President Klaus Iohannis approved a draft national defense strategy of the country in the years 2020-2024, under "Threats" in this document was mentioned and Russia.
"The military build-up in the neighborhood with Romania, including on the Eastern flank, respectively, on the border with NATO (the militarization of the Crimea as a whole, the Black sea basin of Russian Federation, military exercises, capacity-building, through which can be offensive and defensive operations) creates serious challenges for strategic national interests, referring to the border security of the EU and NATO, and, consequently, energy security and stability in the Black sea region", - stated in the document published on the website of the presidential administration of Romania.
In the same project that was already approved by the Supreme defence Council and submitted for approval to the Parliament, says that this situation could have a negative impact on Romania's security.
"National security strategy for the next four years suggests a new approach and offers the management of national security issues with emphasis on integrated management of risks and threats. It is a global paradigm shift that takes into account developments in the region, the deterioration of relations between NATO and the Russian Federation, the spread of terrorism, hybrid and cyber threats and other challenges", - stated in the project evaluation, Johannis, which was also published on the website of the presidential administration.
The draft strategy of national defence of Romania will enter into force after it is approved by both houses of Parliament.
