The DNR said that a checkpoint in the Donbass will remain closed

The checkpoints on the line of contact in Donbas with the self-proclaimed Donetsk people's Republic have yet to be closed because of the threat of the spread COVID-19, said Tuesday in an interdepartmental operational headquarters of the DNR to prevent the introduction and spread of the virus.

Earlier, the press center of the operation of the United forces of Ukraine reported that checkpoints in the Donbas will resume work on June 10.

"In recent years, social networks have increasingly found information about opening of checkpoints between the DPR and Ukraine. Please note that these messages are not that other, as provocation designed to destabilize the situation in the DNI. To open the border unilaterally impossible," - stated in the message of staff.

At the headquarters noted that "the epidemic situation in Ukraine remains very difficult, which is why there is a danger of mass infection of citizens of the Republic coronavirus". "Therefore, to protect people from infection COVID-19, we are forced to leave the border with Ukraine is closed", - said in the headquarters.

The Ministry said that the work of checkpoints will be discussed in the framework of the negotiations of the contact group on settling the situation in Donbas. "To open borders, we need to be sure that it is safe for our citizens. Since the opening of the PPC without any restrictions will inevitably lead to large crowds, long waiting in queues and as a result, outbreaks of the disease. After confirmation of all details for the Minsk area of the data and the procedure of the PPC will be released," - said in the headquarters.

By the decision of Kiev in 2015 with uncontrolled Ukrainian authorities territories of Donbas entered in the transmission mode. To enter or leave the breakaway DNI and LC is possible only through checkpoints or through the territory of the Russian Federation. In the Donetsk region, there are four crossing points. The LC is valid only pedestrian checkpoint "Stanitsa Lugansk". OSCE observers said that the transport and economic blockade leads to humanitarian disaster in the region, and urged to open more crossing points. In March in connection with the situation with COVID-19 people pass through the line of contact in Donbas was suspended.
