Patrushev will hold a meeting on security and development.
The Secretary of security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev on Tuesday will hold a meeting on topical issues of national security in the regions of the northwestern Federal district, reported the press service of the security Council.
The meeting will take part the Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the northwestern Federal district, Alexander Gutan, heads of regions, members of the district, representatives of Federal ministries and agencies, the report says. In connection with the situation with coronavirus infection the event will be held via videoconference.
Such meetings on behalf of the President of Russia are held annually in each of the Federal districts of the Russian Federation. The previous similar meeting on national security issues in the northwestern Federal district was held on 19 July 2019 in Saint-Petersburg. The main topics of the meeting were energy security and the effectiveness of youth policy.
It was stressed that a key factor to ensure energy security is the reliability and warranty of supply in district energy, the ability to create the necessary reserve stocks of energy resources and stable functioning of energy systems and heat supply.
They also discussed preventive measures to reduce crime in the energy sector, and issues related to anti-terrorism security of fuel and energy assets in North-West Russia.
The meeting discussed proposals for improving the effectiveness of youth policy, implementation of regional programmes adopted in accordance with the principles of state youth policy of Russia for the period up to 2025. In particular, recommendations were made to create conditions for successful socialization of young people, develop their potential, including in the interests of innovative development of the country.
In addition, it was highlighted the relevance of youth work to counter the falsification of history and the promotion of objective information about modern Russia and its role in the world. Also considered measures aimed at the prevention of juvenile delinquency.
