The Governor of new York wants to ban the choke detention
The Governor of new York Andrew Cuomo at a press conference said that after discussions with legislators intend to reform the police in the state, including to prohibit the choke hold during the arrest.
Cuomo also announced that the reform of the Prosecutor General will act as an independent Prosecutor in the investigation against the police officers. The reform also means that the false 911 calls because of racial prejudice will be classified as crimes motivated by intolerance.
"We worked with legislators (state ed) at the weekend, I think we have reached an agreement on draft legislation that will be made. If they accept the bills that we discussed and I will sign them as soon as they will," said the Governor.
He noted that the authorities don't know yet if large-scale protests by the increase in the number of infections with coronavirus and urged all protesters take a free test on COVID-19. Sunday was recorded 702 cases of infection with coronavirus, said the Governor.
