Contender for post of the head Tsepkalo of Belarus collected signatures for nomination

The initiative group of the former head of the HTP administration Valery Tsepkalo, who is running for the presidency of Belarus, gathered his nomination 100 thousand signatures of voters, told RIA Novosti on Monday, press Secretary Alex policy urban.

Presidential elections will be held in the Republic on 9 August, for the nomination of their candidates ' initiative groups should gather at least 100 thousand signatures of citizens. On the fifth of June Mikhail Orda, head of the initiative group in support of nomination of six-term incumbent Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, declared that he signed up over a million voters. Thus, Tsepkalo was the third contender, overcame a 100-thousand barrier.

"Collected 119 thousand signatures of voters and collection of proceeds", - said the press Secretary, noting that some of the signatures verified.

With reference to the head of the initiative group of Andrei Tsepkalo Lankina he noted that, according to the activity of citizens, the number of signatures shall be not less than 150 thousand. Urban stressed that with the aim of collecting signatures Tsepkalo continues active travel in the regions of Belarus and holds meetings with voters, on Monday he made a trip to Vitebsk region.

Currently, signatures in support of his nomination candidates collected 14 contenders for the presidency. The collection of signatures of voters in support of nomination of candidates will last till June 19. Registration of presidential candidates will be held from 5 to 14 July, after which starts the period of election campaign.
