Kosachev welcomed the U.S. proposal to aid in Norilsk
The US proposal to assist in the elimination of ecological accidents in Norilsk can be welcomed as a good gesture, but with regard to its practical relevance, it can only assess experts, said RIA Novosti Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.
U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo on Saturday expressed regret in connection with the oil spill in Norilsk and expressed readiness to help Russia in the struggle with its consequences.
"The fact of the proposals Pompeo, can only be welcomed. It's a nice gesture", believes Kosachev.
However, he noted that the judge, Russia needs this help US or not, can be solved only by professionals.
