Abkhazia celebrated the Day of Russian language
Russian language day and the birthday of the great poet Alexander Pushkin noted in Abkhazia, the press service of the Russian Embassy in the Republic.
"The sixth of June, the staff of the Embassy of Russia in Abkhazia and representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic in collaboration with students of the Sukhumi school №2 named after A. S. Pushkin and countrymen laid flowers to the monument to Alexander Pushkin on the occasion of the birthday of the great poet and the day of Russian language", - stated in the message.
The monument was made by the people's poet of Abkhazia Mushni the Lasuriya and students who read poems of Pushkin. "Today, the support and promotion of Russian language abroad is one of the most important tools of expanding international cultural and humanitarian cooperation of Russia with Abkhazia and other countries," - noted in the Embassy.
Russian language day is celebrated in Russia and in the world June 6 - the birthday of the great Russian poet, the founder of modern Russian literary language Alexander Pushkin.
