The head of Rosprirodnadzor told about calculating the damage from the accident in Norilsk
Calculation of damages from a spill of diesel fuel at TPP-3 in Norilsk will depend on what quantity of oil will be able to collect during the operation on elimination of consequences of the accident, said the head Rosprirodnadzora Svetlana Radionova, the TV channel "Russia 24".
"The calculation of damages depends on how much we are now able to collect oil products from water areas and from contaminated soil. Further according to a method approved by the Ministry of natural resources, we believe the amount, I'm not going to say a specific amount," said Radionova.
Earlier the Minister estimated the damages in the "billions of rubles", verification will be completed before June 26.
One of the tanks storing diesel fuel at TPP-3 (owned by JSC "NTEK", a member of the group Norilsk Nickel) Norilsk may 29 was damaged in a result of the rapid subsidence of the supports of the Foundation, a leak occurred about 21 thousand cubic meters of fuel. Norilsk Nickel believes the main cause of the accident, the warming in the permafrost, which resulted in the movement of the supports under the fuel tanks. On the territory of the Krasnoyarsk region introduced a state of emergency at the Federal level. On Friday, the emergencies Ministry reported about the localization of the spilled fuel.
