Fragments of the exploded tank "Frigate" do not threaten the ISS and satellites
The wreckage of the tank of the upper stage "Fregat" exploded in space in may not threaten the International space station and the Russian satellites, told RIA Novosti the representative of the press service of the Roscosmos.
Previously 18 squadron space surveillance USAF announced that the LHC "Frigate" exploded in orbit on may 8 with the formation 65 of the wreckage. Later in the press service of the Roscosmos RIA Novosti confirmed the destruction of the tank and announced that the head of the scientific Institute of a state Corporation, the Institute says the number and orbital parameters of the debris.
On Friday from data posted on the dedicated website of the U.S. air force space-track.org was that the wreckage of the tank "Frigate" shattered into thousands of kilometers.
He noted that the calculations are carried out by specialists of the automated system alerts about dangerous approaches in the near-earth space twice a day.
The exploding object was a toroidal reset the unit tanks of the upper stage "Fregat-SB", which during injection of the satellite into orbit separated after the consumption of fuel. Destroy the unit tanks were used in July 2011 for delivery to the space Observatory "Spektr-R".
In April 2019, the representative of TsNIIMash Yuri Kaluka reported that about 250 of the destruction of space objects (active and inactive satellites, spent stages of carrier rockets and boosters) are fixed in orbit since 1961, when there was the first such event. According to him, the destruction of space objects occurred either as a result of their explosions, or after colliding with other objects.
