"Naftogaz" has thanked the United States for draft sanctions on the "Nord stream — 2"
Ukrainian "Naftogaz" thanked the U.S. senators for the bill, which proposes to impose sanctions against the "Nord stream 2", the press service of the company.
The bill on sanctions against the "Nord stream 2" were previously submitted to the Senate of the United States. He proposes to impose sanctions against the insurers of the ships employed on the construction of a gas pipeline. The document was supported by five senators from both parties, including the influential Senator from Texas Ted Cruz.
"Naftogaz" expresses gratitude to the senators and other friends of Ukraine in the United States, which last year contributed to the adoption PEESA (Law on the protection of European energy security – an edition), and now introduced a bill to clarify the law. As in the process of making PEESA in 2019, "Naftogaz" has been able to provide representatives and key persons in the administration of the President (Donald ed.) trump the important information on Russia's ability to complete the "Nord stream 2", - stated in the message on the website of the company.
In "Naftogaz" also believe that the prompt enactment of this bill may finally stop the implementation of the project "North stream 2".
"Nord stream 2" involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. Against the project actively advocate USA, in the EU promoting its liquefied natural gas, as well as Ukraine and several European countries. States in December imposed sanctions against the project, demanding that the companies doing the strip, to immediately stop the construction. Swiss Allseas almost immediately announced the suspension of the gas pipeline.
