In Sochi, two brothers-police officer sentenced for bribery

The court sentenced the two brothers and police in Sochi for seven and a half and eight years in prison and fines of 1 and 1.5 million rubles for a bribe of 250 thousand rubles, reports the Prosecutor's office of Krasnodar region.

According to authorities, the two brothers, who worked as a detective in Sochi, Vladimir and Yevgeny Halikova with an accomplice from September 2017 to April 2018 was preparing to get a bribe. It is specified that they are for 250 thousand rubles promised to conduct checks on the fact of detection of the 30-year-old resident of Sochi substance that looks similar to the drug.

"They have personally received a bribe in the amount of 225 thousand rubles, which is part of the required 250 thousand rubles for withdrawal from responsibility", - stated in the message.

It is specified that in April 2018 for the transfer of money, the police was arrested. Against the brothers was a criminal case under article "Preparation for receiving a bribe and Receiving a bribe by an organized group on a large scale".

"They were found guilty... the Court has appointed the defendant punishment in the form of eight and seven and a half years of imprisonment respectively. In addition, they appointed additional punishment in the form of deprivation of right to hold positions in bodies of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for a period of five years and a fine of 1.5 million and 1 million rubles," - added in Department.
