The IAEA has supplied 80 countries diagnostic equipment COVID-19

The international atomic energy Agency put 80 countries diagnostic equipment COVID-19, in the coming days and weeks, delivery will continue, said Thursday in a press-service of the organization.

We are talking about 250 games with diagnostic equipment and instruments, reagents and consumables to speed up the testing process, and equipment for personal protection and laboratory cabinets for safe analysis of samples. The first country which received assistance from the Agency, was Peru.

"A hundred and twenty countries have turned to us for help. We conducted the largest ever IAEA operation for assistance. We help countries by providing equipment to perform RT-PCR, as well as materials for testing and sampling," said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Polymerase chain reaction with reverse transcription (RT-PCR) allows to accurately determine the presence of the virus in a few hours. To date, 80 countries have received assistance from the IAEA, 49 of them have put in PCR machine, according to a press release.

"Emergency care and effort in this regard will continue. I call on countries and institutions that are able to do to contribute to this initiative," said Grossi.
