The energy Ministry will start negotiations on the elimination of consequences of emergency in Norilsk
The energy Ministry on Wednesday will begin negotiations with oil companies on the liquidation of the accident spill of diesel fuel in Norilsk, said energy Minister Alexander Novak at a meeting on liquidation of consequences of the oil spill in the Krasnoyarsk Krai with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"With regard to the liquidation of the accident, I am ready to talk to our oil companies, which previously could be faced with such a situation, and might they have the experience to assist and support in the implementation of activities related to elimination of consequences. ... Now talk," said Novak.
On-site CHP-3 in Norilsk on may 29, a fire occurred in an area of 350 square meters. At first it was reported that the fire and fuel spill began after a tank at CHP plant 3 was hit by a car, but later SK the Russian Federation has put forward a different version. According to investigators, the first leaky tank, fuel spilled on the roadway, after which the fire started and lit up a passing car.
According to preliminary data of the authorities, the bottom of the tank sprung a leak because of sagging of the soil. Part of the diesel fuel got into a local Creek and stream in the Barn. Criminal case is brought, the regional authorities introduced a state of emergency intermunicipal level.
MMC Norilsk Nickel expects to eliminate spillage of fuel resulting from the accident at the CHP-3 (JSC "NTEK", is part of the MMC) Norilsk, for 10-14 days, reported by the company.
