Indian and Chinese military will discuss the situation in Ladakh

Between China and India has a long-standing territorial dispute about the ownership of the plot of the mountainous area in the North of Kashmir, and almost 60 thousand square kilometres in the North-Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. The line of actual control passes into the region of Ladakh. In the fall of 1962, the dispute escalated into a border war. In 1993 and 1996, China and India signed the agreement on maintaining peace in the disputed areas.
In late may, India and China were transferred to Ladakh line of actual control, which replaces the border between the two countries, a number of units after clashes in the area highland lakes-Pangong TSO, may 5-6. As reported by the Indian media, strengthening the contingent of each of the parties began after the Chinese military put a few tents by the river Galvan and began construction work.
"It is true that troops from China are on the border. They claim that this is their territory. We argue that this is our territory. For this reason, disagreements have arisen," said Singh.
He noted that this issue is already being discussed at the talks between the military.
"The sixth of June there will be talks between senior officers. I discussed this today with the commander of the army... Even earlier, when there were differences, similar to what happened in Declame, then it was resolved by the negotiations at the military and diplomatic levels," said Singh.
The most serious in recent years, the confrontation between the two countries occurred in the summer of 2017, when the workers from China started laying a highway through the disputed plateau Declam - mountain area at the convergence of the borders of China, India and Bhutan. Then the government of Bhutan expressed its protest, which was ignored by the Chinese side. After that intervened in the case of India: its soldiers crossed the border and after a short struggle drove from the plateau of the military of the PRC. A few months later, after a series of consultations of the foreign Ministry of India and China announced an agreement for the breeding of forces in Docume.
