The CSTO PA Council will hold a June 15 meeting in a videoconference mode

A meeting of the Council of the parliamentary Assembly of the organization of collective security Treaty (CSTO PA) will take place on 15 June in videoconference mode is planned to discuss the issues of security in a situation of a pandemic coronavirus, according to the website of the CSTO PA.

"The meeting will address current issues of ensuring international collective and national security in a situation of a pandemic coronavirus", - stated in the message.

As noted, the Chairman of the CSTO parliamentary Assembly, state Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin will dedicate its performance of "the priority of Russia's presidency in the organization of Treaty on collective security in 2020".

In addition, Council members will review in detail the results of the program activities of the CSTO PA on the approximation and harmonization of national legislation of member States of the organization for 2016-2020 and issues of the draft program of activities of the CSTO PA on 2021-2025 years.

"The leaders of the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO member States will observe with the outcome of the November (2019) sessions of the Council of the collective security Treaty organization, the situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility, the measures to counter challenges and threats of collective security and the ratification of international treaties concluded in the framework of the CSTO, will examine the results of implementation of the programme of activities of the CSTO PA", - stated in the text.

It is noted that the special attention of participants will be given legislative proposals in order to develop comprehensive measures to ensure security in the event of pandemics.

In the meeting of CSTO PA Council will take part the heads of parliamentary delegations of States-CSTO members - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, observers in the CSTO parliamentary representatives of the national Assembly of Serbia, the Wolesi Jirga (lower house of Afghan Parliament), Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, representatives of CSTO Secretariat and CSTO PA.
