Azerbaijan imposed penalties for the lack of masks

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday signed a law on amendments to the code of administrative offences of Azerbaijan, they imply penalties from 30 to 235 dollars for not wearing the medical masks amid the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

According to the amendments, for violation of requirements of corresponding body of Executive power in connection with the use of personal protective equipment, and also for the fact that the officers did not suppress the violation of these requirements, individuals will be fined in the amount of 50 manat ($30), officials – AZN 100 ($60), legal entities – AZN 200 ($120).

For repeated violation of this rule until after the quarantine individuals who have already obtained for it administrative punishment prescribed by article 211.2 of the code, will be fined in the amount of 100 manats, official persons – 200 AZN, legal entities – AZN 400 ($235).

A mode that includes a number of measures of social exclusion was introduced in Azerbaijan on 14 March and 24 March, it acquired the status of "special". Then, on 27 April, began a staged easing of the quarantine mode. At the same time at the end of may, the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan said that after analyzing the health situation and recommendations of who in the country it was decided to extend the quarantine until June 15.
