Balbec described the idea of Kyiv to send NATO ships in the Kerch Strait

Commenting on the statement of the so-called representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Anton Korynevych that the ships of the NATO countries could "monitor the situation" in the Kerch Strait, Deputy of state Duma Ruslan Balbec said that all vehicles pass the Kerch Strait in accordance with international rules of stay in the territorial waters of a sovereign state.

Earlier it was reported that the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Anton Korynevych said that the ships of the NATO countries could "monitor" the situation in the Kerch Strait. "We're talking about the fact that it seems to us advisable the introduction of international monitoring and the presence of the ships of our partner countries, particularly NATO countries, in the area of Kerch with the aim of monitoring the situation with the passage of the Strait," - said Korenevich.

The Deputy called it a "worthless sham" and noted that the Alliance will not accept the proposal of the Ukrainian official.

"No one in our waters did not turn up, Ukraine will ask for it or beg. We didn't block the Kerch Strait, and all are in accordance with international rules of stay in the territorial waters of a sovereign state. Official Kiev decided that it is above international law of the sea, in the end we all remember the end of the Kerch incident," said Balbec RIA Novosti.

In November 2018, three ships of naval forces of Ukraine violated the border of Russia, included in the temporarily closed waters of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation and moved from the Black sea to Kerch Strait. They maneuvered in a dangerous manner, did not obey the lawful demands of the Russian authorities. Ships was detained by the military. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the incident a provocation related to the low rating of Poroshenko before the elections.

The encroaching military 7 September 2019 was transferred to Ukraine in the framework of agreements on the simultaneous release of detainees and convicted persons. Then, on 18 November, Russia handed over Ukraine and the detained ships.
