Voting on amendments to the Constitution will be held on 1 July
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which a nationwide vote on the adoption of amendments to the Constitution will be held on 1 July.
The head of state urged Russians to take active part in it. He recalled that the Basic law defines the basics of "the life of our country, our lives and our children."
Putin instructed the Central election Commission, the CPS and the leadership of the region to provide full security in the areas.
As explained by RIA Novosti, the co-chair of the working group on amendments to the Constitution, the head of the Duma Committee on state construction and legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, citizens can vote from 25 June to 1 July. The results of the counting will be 1 July. Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that this day will make the weekend.
The CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova said that the election Commission has decided to renounce the possibility of voting by mail.
She added that the total public will be organized observation, and in two or three regions of the country can be conducted by remote electronic voting will be extended the opportunity to vote in the house.
While Pamfilova stressed that the vote will be taken all measures to ensure that it was safe and did not affect the health of citizens. All members of commissions, observers and participants will be provided with personal protection equipment and disposable handles. The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko called the date of the all-Russian vote "carefully designed and well conceived" and emphasized that it is agreed with sanitary-epidemiological services.
Matvienko has noticed that the proposed security measures to minimize risks to the health of citizens, but these measures may also be refined.
As said the Chairman of the Federation Council, during the pandemic COVID-19 confirmed the importance of amending the Constitution, and the amendments to it passed the test.
In turn, the Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has expressed the view that since the adoption of the law on the amendment to the Constitution time has proved the timeliness of the proposed changes.
As said Volodin, the country has passed the peak incidence of coronavirus imposed because of the restrictions to soften. This gave the opportunity to revisit the question of the date of the vote, he said.
As he wrote in his blog, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, despite the difficult epidemiological situation in the country, it is important to make decisions that will help to avoid problems in the future.
The mayor pointed to the fact that unmatched solutions is also a serious problem.
