The historian commented on the possible cancellation of the decision on the Pact in 1939

Cancellation of the resolution on the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact would be a demonstration of the political will of the Russian state to one of active resistance to the attempts of the West to present the Soviet Union as one of the culprits in the outbreak of the Second world war, said RIA Novosti member of the Zinoviev club MIA "Russia today", the doctor of historical Sciences Oleg Nazarov.

Open letter in support submitted to the state Duma a draft law repealing the decree of the Council of people's deputies of the USSR, condemned the Soviet-German non-aggression Pact (the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact), entered the address of the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and the author of the bill Deputy Alexei Zhuravlev. The letter was signed by seven Heroes of Russia, Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of Socialist labor, more than 20 doctors and candidates of historical, legal and political Sciences, and other experts. Oleg Nazarov became one of the signatories.

"From the point of view of countering the West's attempts to present the story in their own way cancellation of the decision will demonstrate the readiness of our country to continue to keep their innocence," - said Nazarov.

"Cancelling the decree of 1989, we at the political level, bragging about his position and the West's ability to nod to the past and say: "the Congress of people's deputies at the time, decided, that the official position of the state remains in force," - said the Agency interlocutor.

According to Nazarov, the decree 30 years ago is used in the West as the last argument in discussions about pre-war events.

"After all, what question or begin to argue with Western historians, political scientists, journalists, then, when it is nothing to cover the real facts, there is nothing to respond on the merits, they get defensive and say, "what can I say, if your government, all have been said about the Covenant!" - said Nazarov.

According to the historian, the current actions of the West against the history of the war - "it's the berries, planted 30 years ago and which we are now collecting".

"After all, what was happening at the time, was very reminiscent of the game giveaway side of our state. We have not stated their position, and at best justified. But no war, including informational, you can't win by just defending," said Nazarov.

"In recent years, this game is not only in our gates. And we need to continue to push its agenda, including to indicate the Western countries, as they are actually in the twentieth century, collaborated with Nazi Germany and thus brought the Second world war. It is important to get rid of the historical "debris" formed in the years of perestroika and in the early 1990-ies", - concluded the expert.
