Putin instructed to ensure the adoption of the law on electronic visa foreigners

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure the passage of the bill relating to the issuance of electronic visas for entry of foreigners in Russia from January 1, 2021, reads the list of instructions following a meeting on transportation development.

The Russian government previously introduced in the state Duma the bill of introduction in Russia from January 1, 2021 single e-visas. Now a pilot e-visas are valid for visits to the Far East, Kaliningrad region and Saint-Petersburg.

"To ensure the adoption of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Federal law "On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation in the part concerning the design of a single e-visas and entry into the Russian Federation of foreign citizens on the basis of a single e-visas, and the annulment of certain provisions of legislative acts of the Russian Federation" (draft law № 945923-7)", - stated in the document published on the Kremlin website.

The period of execution of instructions – October 1, 2020.

The draft Federal law proposes to define the e-visa as a visa category along with diplomatic, service, ordinary, transit visa and temporary residence visa, as well as to establish that the electronic visa is issued as single entry for up to 60 calendar days permitted duration of stay in Russia up to 16 days. Electronic visa will be issued based on the decision of the Ministry of foreign Affairs about visa a foreign citizen, at his request, filled on a dedicated website on the Internet. Term of registration of electronic visas will not be more than four calendar days from the filing date of the alien's statements about its design.
