Ukraine has tested a cruise missile "Neptune"
Ukrainian design Bureau "Luch" of concern "Ukroboronservis" reported about the successful testing of cruise missiles P-360 complex of Kazakhstan-360МЦ "Neptune".
As the head of KB Oleh Korostelyov, the launches were carried out for two purposes in the Black sea at intervals of two seconds. According to him, the first target is located 85 kilometers from the launch site and the other at 110 km. The distance between them was more than 20 kilometers.
Korostelev said that on approaching the target the missile fell five meters above sea level and calculated the optimum point of defeat.
In July 2019 the former Secretary of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said that these missiles supposedly can get a few minutes to destroy the Crimean bridge. In response, the leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky has declared that in case of such developments, Ukraine will cease to exist as a state.
As stated by a member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of rocket and artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov, "Neptune" is a version of the Soviet Kh-35.
"Now they have altered that could release without Russian supply their own businesses. The missile is an outdated version of the American "Harpoon" main characteristics" — said the expert.
Sivkov added that Russia has weapons whose range of two to two and a half times higher than the Ukrainian rocket.
At the same time, he acknowledged that "Neptune" should be regarded as a potential danger, however, Russia is ready to confront her. It is necessary to provide a control system, strengthen exploration on the Black sea, to track the movement of the Ukrainian ships in the potential launch of missiles and prevent their advancement there.
