The spacecraft Crew Dragon was launched to the ISS

Falcon 9 with two NASA astronauts aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft was launched to the International space station.

At the moment the first and second stage successfully separated from the rocket.

The launch took place from the second attempt: initially the launch was scheduled for may 27, but canceled due to bad weather.

This is the first American manned flight since 2011 and the first space flight by a private company with people on Board. The mission has a great importance for the future of manned space flight and NASA's strategy for cooperation with private companies.

Aboard the Crew Dragon are astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley. The ship has to dock to the ISS on Sunday. Date for the return of astronauts to Earth is not yet determined.

NASA is working in human spaceflight companies SpaceX and Boeing, each of which was built and tested unmanned private spacecraft. A successful manned mission SpaceX will allow her to escape far ahead in the race against Boeing.
