Bogdanov discussed with the Ambassador of Palestine the situation in the middle East
The Russian President's special envoy on the Middle East and Africa, Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov discussed with the Palestinian Ambassador in Moscow Abdelhafiz Nafalem the situation in the middle East, as well as the development of Russian-Palestinian relations and issues of cooperation in the fight against coronavirus, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"During the meeting held in-depth exchange of views on issues of the Palestinian-Israeli peace process with emphasis on the need to preserve the known international legal basis of STB, including the relevant resolutions of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly and the Arab peace initiative," - said in the message.
The parties also touched upon topical aspects of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Palestinian relations, including the issues of cooperation in the fight against coronavirus infection.
The Palestinians in the framework of the peace process with Israel, which is currently suspended, require that future border between two sovereign States was passed on the lines that existed before the six day war in 1967, with a possible exchange of territories. They hope to create their own state on the West Bank of the Jordan river and the Gaza strip, and East Jerusalem want to make it the capital. Israel refuses to return to 1967 borders, and even more to share with Arab Jerusalem, which has already announced its eternal and indivisible capital.
