The newest nuclear submarine of strategic purpose "Prince Vladimir" was transferred to the Navy, told RIA Novosti the official representative of United shipbuilding Corporation.
"The act of acceptance-transfer of the ship was signed in Severodvinsk today," he said.
Soon the ship would raise Andreevsky naval flag, after which the boat will enter the combat strength of the Northern fleet.
The other day, "Prince Vladimir" has finished a test access to the sea and arrived in Severodvinsk, the plant "Sevmash". The boat was in the White sea since may 12, a control test was carried out first on the surface and then submerged. The main part of the testing, including missile and submarine torpedo fire, "Prince Vladimir" was held at the end of last year.
"Prince Vladimir" — the head submarine of the improved project 955A ("Borey-A") — nuclear submarines of the fourth generation. From cruisers of the project 955 is it different hull shape, low noise, superior control system. The ship is armed with complex Intercontinental ballistic missiles "Bulava" and the modern mine and torpedo weapons.
Head submarine project 955 "Yuri Dolgoruky" was included in the combat strength of the Northern fleet in 2013. The other two, "Alexander Nevsky" and "Vladimir Monomakh", with 2014 serving in the Pacific fleet. At the stage of completion is the fifth submarine "Prince Oleg".
