Sudan has asked the UN security Council to support talks on the dam in Ethiopia

Sudan's foreign Minister asked the UN Security Council with a request to support the efforts of Khartoum on the resumption of negotiations between Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt on the construction of the Ethiopian dam "Revival", said Tuesday the Sudanese news Agency SUNA.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Sudan, ASMA Abdullah sent a letter to the head of the UN security Council to ensure support for the negotiating process, said the Agency. "The letter contains a request to the UN security Council to encourage all parties to refrain from unilateral steps that might affect peace and security in the region and at the international level and to support the efforts of the Sudan to resume negotiations", - stated in the message. The foreign Ministry expressed hope that these talks will ultimately lead "to a comprehensive agreement acceptable to all parties".
