Turkish Deputy explained the decision of Erdogan's Hagia Sophia

The decision of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to make the Hagia Sophia a mosque is dictated by the desire to score political points and win the favour of the electorate, said RIA Novosti Deputy of the Turkish Parliament Ozturk Yilmaz.

The state Council, Turkey's highest administrative court on Friday annulled the decision of 1934 the transformation of Hagia Sophia into a Museum. Immediately after the court verdict, Erdogan announced that he had signed a decree about the transformation of the Cathedral into a mosque and the beginning of Muslim worship there.
