Chilean archeologist and a prominent figure in Chilean political and cultural life, and mother of the current UN high Commissioner for human rights and ex-President Michelle Bachelet Angela Geria died at the age of 93 years.
Reportedly, Geria, died Thursday morning in the hospital of military-air forces of the country.
The rally was held at the headquarters of UN in new York, protesters requires the organization adopted a resolution condemning the US actions in the context of the treatment of minorities, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
The city hosts a number of protest actions, caused by the murder of an African-American George Floyd. While the protests are mostly peaceful.
The UN high Commissioner for human rights Michelle Bachelet called on US authorities to stop the unprecedented attacks on journalists during mass protests across the country, the statement said Bachelet, released by the office of the high Commissioner on Wednesday.
"What is happening is an unprecedented attack on journalists. In some cases they were attacked or arrested them live. Even more shocking that this happens in the US, a country where freedom of media and expression are fundamental principles that are Central to the identity of the country," she said.
The UN high Commissioner for human rights Michelle Bachelet called for an independent investigation of all attacks on the police and the protesters which led to injuries and death.
This is stated in the statement Bachelet, released by the office of the high Commissioner on Wednesday.
Vice-Premier of the Crimean government, the permanent representative of the Republic of Crimea under the Russian President Georgi Muradov expressed hope that the UN will react to water blockade of the Peninsula from Ukraine and will take appropriate decisions.

The main source of fresh water to Crimea is extending from the river Dnieper North-Crimean canal, which provided 85% of the needs of people in clean and safe drinking water. However, after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia water flow through the channel in the Republic was completely stopped unilaterally.
The UN high Commissioner for human rights Michelle Bachelet condemned the killing of African American George Floyd, whose death after police detention led to serious protests in Minneapolis, and called for the punishment of the guilty police officers. This is stated in the statement she issued on Thursday.
"The U.S. government needs to take serious measures to stop such killings and to ensure justice when they do occur. Needs to be changed the procedures put into effect preventive measures, but should first of all be charged the police officers who resorted to excessive use of force, and sentenced for their crimes," she said.
