The results of the vote of the UN Security Council on a resolution on the extension of the arms embargo against Iran demonstrate the isolation of the US, said the permanent representative of Iran to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi.
On Friday, the UN security Council did not support the U.S. resolution on extension of the arms embargo against Iran, that actively supports Washington. For the resolution voted in the United States and the Dominican Republic were against Russia and China, abstained 11 members of the security Council. According to the agreements in the framework of the Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD), permits the supply to Iran of military equipment is temporary and will expire on October 18. According to the rejected draft resolution, the Security Council would take a decision, certain provisions of the previous resolution 2231 (regulate the establishment of SVPD) regardless of their validity "will continue to apply until the Security Council decides otherwise."
