One of the main attractions of the country will not open on 1 July, as previously announced. The reason is the decision of the authorities of the Cusco region, fearing the outbreak of coronavirus.
The world-famous Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru will be opened for tourists 1 July, but will need to comply with the new regulations, according to radio RPP.
The staff of the Park, as well as hotels and restaurants are located nearby, periodically pass tests for COVID-19. To visit the ruins of the ancient city, you will need to disinfect your shoes, wash your hands, wear a mask and keep your distance.
