USA will increase pressure on the government of Venezuela led by President Nicolas Maduro and intend to impose new sanctions, said US special representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams.
"We have imposed some sanctions last week, some this week. I have no doubt that this will continue and will be even more pressure, sanctions and diplomatic activity in which we engage," said Abrams in a press briefing.
US special representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams has indirectly confirmed that the United States contact with representatives of law enforcement agencies of the Republic, but refused to say who it was.
"As for the question about who we say I will not be talking about it. The main reason is that Venezuela is a couple thousand members of the Cuban intelligence who are trying to prevent this (talks in the United States - ed.). So the less I say the better," said Abrams in a press briefing.
