The Minister of defence of Germany Annegret Kramp-of Karrenbauer in an interview with Zeit said Germany should bring to Moscow a clear position about the country's defense and its ability to defend itself if necessary.
"I am concerned about the question of how Germany should put yourself in the future. What threatens us? How can we be strong? After the end of the cold war we were lucky for a long time to be surrounded by friends. We now definitely feel that 1989 was not the end of the story. Instead, we are faced with a conflict between the United States and China, which increasingly put us Europeans, before the question of what we are willing to do for our values and our way of life. If we want to declare themselves as Europeans, we can only do this together. It is expected from the leadership of Germany, and not only as economic powers.
