The Minister of defence of Germany Annegret Kramp-of Karrenbauer in an interview with Zeit said Germany should bring to Moscow a clear position about the country's defense and its ability to defend itself if necessary.
"I am concerned about the question of how Germany should put yourself in the future. What threatens us? How can we be strong? After the end of the cold war we were lucky for a long time to be surrounded by friends. We now definitely feel that 1989 was not the end of the story. Instead, we are faced with a conflict between the United States and China, which increasingly put us Europeans, before the question of what we are willing to do for our values and our way of life. If we want to declare themselves as Europeans, we can only do this together. It is expected from the leadership of Germany, and not only as economic powers. We are talking about collective defense... in the end, whether we want to actively shape the global order," said crump, Karrenbauer.

"The vast majority of you (servants and employees of the Bundeswehr - ed.) adhered to the conviction of the values of our Basic law and protect it. In spite of this in the KSK of the Bundeswehr have increased from April 2017 of a suspected right-wing extremist sentiments and lack of allegiance to the Constitution. Special forces is especially important to have a firm confidence not only of the political and military leadership, but also of the Parliament, as his employer, and society as a whole. This fundamental trust is consistently threatened by suspected right-wing extremism in KSK", - said the Minister at a press conference on Wednesday.

"The question of how we perceive Russia as we assess the behavior of Russia is the decisive question. It is a huge challenge in Europe and in NATO. There is a big difference - if you are German and live in Germany and you're in a good situation, surrounded by friends, or you are a country that has a common border with Russia or you countries like the Nordic, Baltic and Eastern European countries that on a daily basis see a violation on the part of Russia", - she said, speaking via video link to the discussion on the site of the American analytical center Atlantic Council.
